In accordance with the reports, the Indian language internet users will reach a count of 536 million in the upcoming four years. The main reason behind this huge jump is the increase in digital literacy, the availability of high-speed data, increase in internet-enabled devices, etc. has resulted in the growth.

Though, as per the reports by the Boston consulting group, by the year 2020, half of the Indian internet users will become rural. So, it can be said that there is enough scope of wandering India’s digital market.

The reports also show the liking of rural society towards the social networking and entertainment. However, they are not much interested in the online ticketing and shopping.

In order to improve the mobile data availability and its improvements in the rural areas, the state and central joined hands to give permission to NOFN (national optical fiber network). The main aim of launching this project is to offer 100 MBPS broadband services to all the gram panchayats.

It has been even assured that the connectivity to the people of gram panchayat will be given by the use of underground fiber, the optimal mix of aerial fibers, satellite media, radio, etc. Moreover, from the year 2018 to 2023, the government will spotlight more on the future proof network, state of the art with the ring topology.

In the year 2016, United Nations Human Rights Commission passed a resolution in order to make the internet access a basic right of the human. For the promotion of digitization in India, the government is laboring hard on the proposal of installing optical fiber network; offering internet access to every individual of the nation.

In February 2017, it has been reported that around 79% of the Indians love to surf the internet through mobile. In addition, India has become number one country in terms of mobile internet usage, leaving UK and US.

Even a strategist reported that by the year 2017 the Indian internet users would definitely go up to around 500 million. With the rapid emergence of Chinese brands, a range of Smartphones has arrived and provided some eye-popping features like big screen display, local language support, etc at very reasonable prices. Due to this, the growth of internet usage will surely rise in the rural areas.
